It’s kind of amazing to me how God worked this whole thing out. A few months ago I held a “cutest couple contest” and the couple with the most votes would win a free session with me. Well, Shelby (who you might recognize from here) entered her and Casey and after two weeks they had the most votes! Shelby contacted me and we started discussing all the details and she let me know right off the bat that she wanted to have their session at the bible camp where they first met (side note…my hubby and I met there in the 7th grade so it just happens to be a special place to us too!). Fast forward a couple days and I get a phone call from her boyfriend Casey letting me know that he would like to work out a way to propose to Shelby at the end of the session. He told me he always had wanted to propose to her at the camp but could never really think of a way to get her there without her becoming suspicious. So basically she entered the contest, she picked the location, she thought she was planning the entire thing….so she had absolutely no idea what was about to happen! We went through the session and took a few photos here and there and then at the end we went down to the cross by the lake. I posed Shelby away from the camera and then Casey got on one knee. When I asked her to turn around she saw him with the ring…it was such an emotional moment for all of us! Thank you so much Shelby and Casey for letting me be a part of such a special day in your life. I can’t wait to see what God has planned for your life together!

It’s monthly challenge time! I really love the opportunities these monthly challenges have been giving me. I’m not sure I would have tried shooting through glass had I not done it for this month’s challenge and I had such a great time exploring it! I tossed around lots of different ideas before settling on shooting through my car window one rainy night at sunset. I wasn’t sure exactly what I would get, but I have to say that I’m happy with the way these turned out. Enjoy the images and when you are finished please head on over to Valerie’s blog to see her take on shooting through glass. Follow the circle all the way around until you get back here! Thanks everyone πŸ™‚

Meet the Babbino family. I had such a wonderful time capturing them! The weather was perfect and the light was so beautiful. I’m so going to miss those 70 degree evenings once Summer gets here full swing. Molly and Levi did so well and gave me so many genuine smiles. Thank you for letting me spend time with your sweet family! I hope you are enjoying your photos!

A little over a month ago I had the pleasure of photographing my first school photos. Now, school photos have a bad reputation of always being extremely awful so I came into the experience really wanting to give the parents something they would want to display in their homes. I had no idea how it was going to go but I have to say I LOVED it! I would totally do it again given the opportunity! The kiddos were so sweet and cooperative and I think we got the entire preschool done in only an hour and a half. It was such a great day!

I can’t believe I have stayed with my 365 project this long! I love being able to look back at any day this year and know exactly what we were doing. It’s almost like a diary of sorts…just with photos instead of words! Here are the last few weeks:
