I will admit….this month was very tough for me. It was like doing really difficult homework where you have to spend a lot of time really concentrating and your head hurts when you are finished. This month’s challenge really pushed me to move out of my creative comfort zone. Some of these perspectives might not be extremely “unique”, but they are unique to me and the way I shoot.

Macro always lends to interesting perspectives since it forces you to look at ordinary things in a new way.

vPINIMAGEV

I am an “in your face” shooter so being this far away is definitely a new and interesting perspective for me!

If you follow my business page on Facebook then you know about my love affair with macro photography. Lately, while my sweet daughter naps, I’ve been taking the baby monitor and my camera and heading out in the yard to practice some macro. This has become so therapeutic for me! It’s so peaceful to have just me and my camera and not have to worry about posing, keeping a toddler still, or making sure everyone looks perfect. It’s calm and serene and I get to really focus on the creative aspect of the photo. Here is some of my “therapy”. Enjoy!

I love getting to see my little clients grow up! This is my second time photographing the lovely Uhrig family, the first was for Porter’s three month session. He has gotten bigger and even more handsome since the last time I saw him :). Getting to document this time in a family’s life is such a blessing! Enjoy your photos Jamie and Doug!

Meet Harper. She was the winner of my cutest kid contest back in November and she most definitely lives up to that title. Harper is very close to the age of my daughter (I think they are just a couple months a part) so I have lots of experience photographing this age and I know it can sometimes be a challenge. Not with Miss Harper! She did SO great during her shoot and was happy and smiling the entire time! Just see for yourself.

We are now on month two of our monthly challenge blog circle This month’s challenge was food photography. I was very excited about this because food is such a willing subject! It’s nice to be able to photograph something that will sit perfectly still for you πŸ™‚ I did find it to be more of a challenge than I was expecting though. Food photography requires precise styling and composition to make it look really appealing, something that I had to practice to get just right. I choose to focus on my breakfast one morning = baked egg en cocotte. I LOVE eggs and will eat them cooked any way, but something about baked eggs just feels fancy. Thanks for looking and enjoy!
